We seek to adopt sustainable practices that reduce our carbon footprint by investing in fuel-efficient vehicles, reducing energy consumption, and minimizing waste production. The company has also started exploring different options to reduce our carbon emissions through investments in alternative energy sources, and people training.
In Practice: The most eloquent example here at Express Trailers is the Genoa Project which was conceived primarily to create new efficiencies through hubbing, thus reducing the number of empty containers travelling to Malta.
The company has also implemented a three-year investment digitalization project to streamline and improve all client documentation, bookings, and internal communication, a project that will lead to further optimization of all operations as well as enhancing its business intelligence and customer engagement, leading to greater efficiencies.
We remain committed to promoting diversity and inclusion, fostering a safe and healthy work environment, and upholding human rights through policies that promote equal opportunities for all employees, providing adequate health and safety training and implementing fair practices.
In Practice: Over the past few years, especially in a context of limited availability of new talent, Express Trailers has been increasingly employing non-Maltese employees. Today, our multi-cultural team includes employees of different nationalities including several third-country nationals across the company’s various operations.
The company has also embraced the highest levels of safety and offers training to its industrial workers as well as all its local and overseas drivers on a regular basis. This training is extended to all the members of our team, allowing for their growth and personal development.
From an external perspective, the company’s promotion of Road Safety through its annual sponsorship of the Express Trailers Żurrieq Half Marathon and 10Km Run also falls within its social commitment.
Another initiative to promote social wellbeing was the planting of 270 trees to represent each employee in a local valley, also in a bid to help offset our carbon footprint and give back to our community.
We believe that good governance is demonstrated through transparency, accountability, and ethical practices by maintaining accurate and transparent financial reporting, establishing strong governance structures and policies, and promoting ethical behaviour throughout the organization.
In Practice: Over the past few years, the company has carried a major overhaul of its management structure with the introduction of non-family members on its management board. Our mission and priority remain to support our business partners and community at large in all their transport and logistics needs in a transparent and responsible manner.
