The recent inauguration of Malta’s first charging hub for Malta Public Transport’s new fleet of electric buses was another source of pride for Express Trailers, having been entrusted with the importation and delivery of all the equipment on behalf of its client EVPoint who entrusted Express Trailers with this unique project.
The delivery consisted of five 1.4-ton charging stations and additional equipment which were handled by Express Trailers’ dedicated delivery team who employed a curtain-sided trailer, forklifters and a crane on site.
“We were particularly proud to have supported our client EVPoint with this special project which involved the delivery of all the specialised equipment all the way from Finland to Malta for what to date is considered to be Malta’s first DC charging hub for electric public buses,” said Antoine Vella on behalf of Express Trailers.
“Every delivery is important to us, and we employ any required vehicles and equipment to make sure the delivery happens safely and securely. As with every project, our service was made special by the commitment and the passion of our people who always treat every cargo as though it was their own.”
The client, Alfred Camilleri, Managing Director of EVPoint, noted how the delivery process was not a straightforward one given the delicate cargo that needed to be at the site, in time for installation.
“This was our first time collaborating with Express Trailers but given their long years of experience with specialized deliveries such as this one, we were confident that no matter how complicated or demanding the work would be, everything would go smoothly and safely. In fact, the delivery was right on time and Express Trailers’ people remained on site throughout the five-hour operation, unloading and unpacking the equipment and seeing it hauled in place,” said Mr Camilleri.
EVPoint is a specialised company in electric vehicle charging solutions for homes, businesses and fleet operators and the DC charging hub for Malta Public Transport’s fleet of electric buses was one of its flagship projects.
